AS Monaco and FC Bayern Munich battled until the very last second at Salle Gaston Medecin, as both teams thought they could come away with the victory. When the dust settled, Monaco had registered an 80-79 home win, despite Andreas Obst's late heroics.
Okobo, Obst stepped up in crunch time
Monaco led 77-66 going into the final minute and, while most teams would have given up, Bayern chose to fight back. Once Ognjen Jaramaz hit a technical free throw, Obst put together a shooting clinic, burying 2 shots from downtown and being fouled while trying another one, hitting all 3 free throws. His second three-pointer fixed the final score with 0.6 seconds left. Bayern simply ran out of time down the stretch.

Monaco could not have won the game without Elie Okobo's outstanding second-half performance. He had 12 of his 16 points in the final 11 minutes. Once Bayern got within 57-55, Okobo followed a fastbreak layup with a wild turnaround jumper, and soon after he added a three-pointer and a pair of free throws for a 69-59 lead.
Simply put, Okobo put Monaco on the right track to win the game, and Obst almost helped Bayern complete what would have been an incredible comeback.
