Manresa will play in the fifth-place game
U18 Manresa downs U18 Olympiacos, picks up long-awaited win



In the final game of group stage at the Adidas NextGen EuroLeague Ulm qualifier, U18 BAXI Manresa beat U18 Olympiacos Piraeus 83-101 on Saturday night. This is Manresa’s first win in NextGen competition in more than 15 years, as its last victory dates back to January 5, 2011 when Manresa beat Joventut Badalona.
Manresa improved to 1-2 and won third place in Group B, while Olympiacos dropped to 0-3. On Sunday, Manresa will play in a fifth-place game against U18 Emporio Armani Milan, while Olympiacos will face U18 Next Gen Team Ulm in the seventh-place game.
Manresa had five scorers in double figures, led by Alex Muncunill who had 19 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Max Olvera and Bruno Jekabsons scored 13 apiece in a win. Spiridon Papaioannou had 20 points for Olympiacos, while Konstantinos Nikolaou scored 13.
