Kendrick Nunn went wild with 27 points for the Greens
Panathinaikos pops Peristeri in domestic action

Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens claimed a 72-89 road victory over Peristeri Athens Betsson in Round 6 of the Greek League on Saturday. Kendrick Nunn led the Greens with 27 points, anchoring a balanced offensive performance that saw Jerian Grant and Marius Grigonis add 9 points apiece. C.J. Harris paced Peristeri with 16 points.
The game opened with Panathinaikos striking first, but Peristeri responded with a run and briefly led 7-2. Both teams traded baskets in a tightly balanced first quarter that ended 22-22. Early in the second quarter, Panathinaikos gained a narrow advantage, which expanded into a 2-14 run for its first double-digit lead, 24-36. Peristeri fought back to even things at 43-43, though Panathinaikos managed to close the half up 43-48.
Panathinaikos started the second half strong and stretched the lead to nine points at 43-52, but Peristeri rallied with an 8-0 response. The Greens answered with another decisive run, re-establishing a double-digit cushion. Early in the fourth quarter, the Greens had pushed the margin to 70-56 and never looked back.
After the game, Panathinaikos coach Ergin Ataman praised his team’s defensive intensity and Nunn’s impact, noting the importance of their disciplined approach against a Peristeri side that has impressed both domestically and in Europe lately. Ataman also highlighted upcoming roster developments, including the anticipated arrival of Kenneth Faried and ongoing efforts to bolster the center position.
