After seeing off a spirited challenge from Maccabi on Tuesday, reigning champ Real (21-3) is hoping to pile more misery on injury-hit ASVEL (5-19) in meeting of first versus last.
Chus Mateo, Real Madrid: 'We have to go step by step and be patient'

ASVEL's defeat against Fenerbahce on Tuesday saw the team run out of steam after Mike Scott scored 21 points in the first half, while in-form forward Mbaye Ndiaye will look to stay hot in the Spanish capital after a number of spectacular plays earlier this week. Vincent Poirier was key to Real's comeback win over ASVEL, 76-77, in December scoring 8 unanswered points in the fourth quarter, and he's ready to excel again after pairing 16 points with 10 boards in Tuesday's win over Maccabi.
Chus Mateo, Real Madrid head coach
"We have to go step by step and be patient to get into the playoffs. We are on the path we set at the start of the season to be as high as possible so we can reap the benefits that being at the top entails. I think we are doing well, especially at home. We have to keep that way and if we're patient, we'll get there sooner or later. We now play against ASVEL, and we want to show that we have ambition and that we do not want to lose any games."
Eli Ndiaye, Real Madrid player
"We started the week well with a win over Maccabi and playing well. Now we have to put everything on our part to defeat ASVEL with the help of our fans. The first game against them was hard because ASVEL is a very strong team, very athletic and we will have to give it our all to stay undefeated at home. We are riding a good streak at home and we want it to stay that way. Our fans suppport us a lot and we feel comfortable there. In Madrid we play even tougher and I hope we will be able to make good use of that."
