Dimitris Itoudis, Fenerbahce: 'We had big numbers on the boards'

Dimitris Itoudis, Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul head coach
"We were in control of the game. We were very composed. Congratulations to the athletes, to our players, because we were coming from, let's say, a bad point in terms of fighting on boards and giving up a lot of offensive rebounds [in Round 18 against Panathinaikos]; 26 was the number. I think we hustled today and were there to support every jumper; well-created, good jumpers. We were shooting the ball pretty good, but we had big numbers on the boards. Obviously, on +25 if I am not mistaken, we thought that the game was over, but let's give credit to the EuroLeague, to this competition, to Bayern, obviously, and to each and every team. The game is never ending until, as they used to say in the United States, the fat lady sings. So, we thought that the game was over, but I think, for us, it looks like it is going to be a turning point. We came back again to the track. We are practicing all together, although we have [Tarik] Biberovic, [Nemanja] Bjelica and [Ismet]Akpinar sidelined, but we are there. We believe in ourselves and, once again, congratulations to the players and to the fans."
Andrea Trinchieri, FC Bayern Munich head coach
"First of all, congrats to Fenerbahce. At the end of the day, they were better but I will give you some numbers in order to be very clear about the final result of the game. 44-25 rebounds, it is impossible to play basketball at this level. And the second number that was crucial is that we made only 1 three-point shot in the second half. So these are two numbers that can give you the picture of the game, losing by 25 on the road, here.
"But we found a way to come back. We didn't give up. We played better, believed in ourselves and cut the gap to 4 with a [missed] free throw. And I believe that my team played hard and never gave up. We had a horrible third quarter and we never boxed out tonight, so the area of improvement is in our brain. Mental mistakes. And when you play every 48 hours, it is very difficult. But my team played tonight. We had a very bad quarter. We didn't do enough to win the game."

Johnathan Motley, Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul center
"I am really just glad we won, that's all I care about. It is really important for us to get back in the win column. We started so good and we have been on a drought, and I think we got two in a row, so I am very happy for that: That is all I really care about. Toughness [was the key]. I think we kind of fell short in the beginning of the fourth by letting them get back, making multiple mistakes, then their three-point shooters got open shots, and this is something we don't really want to do. But you have to learn from this type of game, and I am just glad we came away with a win."
Nigel Hayes-Davis, Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul forward
"It was 75% of a good game by Fenerbahce, what we try to do. We got a little relaxed and gave up a 23-point lead. I do appreciate the hustle that we showed, though. We had a lot of offensive rebounds, and that's as good, as the team showed a response, because we got killed two days ago. Offensive rebounds almost cost us the game [against Panathinaikos], so it was good to do that."
