Ettore Messina, Milan head coach:
"I think we had an overall good game. I think we defended well enough except that at the beginning of the fourth quarter, we gave up too many penetrations. Melli sank a pair of free throws and after that we played great defense on their best one-on-one player. We need to keep working and recover our injured players. Today, we lost Gigi Datome two minutes into the game. We know it's a grind but the team showed character and I'm very happy."
Christos Serelis, Panathinaikos head coach:
"We fought until the end. We told the players that this has to be the mentality, but we have to sort out our turnovers and make less mistakes to win games in Europe.
"We came here knowing that it would be a very tough game and we didn’t have time to change a lot of things, defensively and offensively. We asked the players to react because we are not in a good situation the last two months. I think we made a good effort and played well as a team defensively, although we had some problems with defensive rebounds. That was realistic because we have some injured players and it was difficult to be at 100 percent for 40 minutes with a short rotation. In the end, I believe we had an opportunity to win the game. It’s a new beginning for us, we have to continue like this, but we have to start winning games."
Brandon Davies, Milan center:
"It came down to the little things. We wanted the ball a little bit more. We had to play a lot of one-on-one defense, and I've got to give the guys a lot of credit for stepping up and playing good defense. They beat us at their place so we wanted to make sure we got them here. Our fans were a big part of that. They’ve been supporting us through these ups and downs, so it was good to get that win for them."
Shabazz Napier, Milan guard:
"The guys stayed together when we needed to stay together. We got some rebounds, we got some stops and we made some shots. I am trying to do what I can, help the team in any way, learning the plays and the schemes. So far, we’ve been stringing some good games together and hopefully we can continue to do that."
Derrick Williams, Panathinaikos forward:
"We had our chance to win. In the end, we are happy for the effort. I feel bad for all of us, I'm sad because we fought for 40 minutes but we didn't make it. We had the shot at the end, Bacon is confident, we believe in him too."
