Game Center: Obst heroics down Baskonia; Paris defeats Efes

Anadolu Efes Istanbul 79-84 Paris Basketball
Paris ended a six-game losing streak on the road by defeating Efes 79-84, with Nadir Hifi scoring 27 points – the 11th time he has netted 20 points or more in a game this season. The visitors took advantage of a five-minute spell in the fourth quarter (from 5:38 to 0:31) that saw Efes go scoreless, allowing them to overturn a 77-72 deficit and go 77-82 ahead. With this win, Paris improved to 3-7 on the road and 7-13 overall. Efes, however, dropped to 6-14.
In addition to Hifi’s 27 points, Jared Rhoden stood out with 15 points. Justin Robinson chipped in with 11 for the winners, and Amath M’Baye and Sebastian Herrear had 10 apiece. Efes was led by the 17 points of Saben Lee, who made his first EuroLeague appearance for the club. Ercan Osmani added 15 and Jordan Loyd had 12 in defeat.
FC Bayern Munich 96-89 Kosner Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz
Bayern celebrated its second win in a row following a sequence of nine successive defeats thanks to a stellar performance from Andreas Obst, who set new EuroLeague records of 37 points and a PIR of 38 as the hosts rallied from a 12-point deficit in the fourth quarter. Baskonia led 36-46 at halftime and surged ahead 60-72 at the start of the fourth but the effervescent Obst kept hitting 3-pointers for fun, shooting 7-of-11 from deep and 6-of-7 from inside to vanquish Baskonia, The hosts improved to 7-13 while the Spanish side, which suffered a fourth straight loss, dropped to 6-14 and remain in the bottom echelons of the competition.
Justinian Jessup added 17 points for Bayern on the back of a strong fourth quarter while Isiaha Mike racked up 13 and 7 boards. At the other end, Matteo Spagnolo paced Baskonia on 20 points while Rodions Kurucs and Eugene Omoruyi chpped in with 13 apiece. Bayern dominated downtown as the home team sank an impressive 13 of 21 from deep while the visitors managed 12 of 30.

Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul 88-80 Olympiacos Piraeus
Fenerbahce grabbed its 10th win in the last 11 EuroLeague games by downing Olympiacos 88-80 at Ulker Sports and Event Hall in Round 20 on Tuesday. Fenerbahce improved to 13-6 in the standings while Olympiacos dropped to 11-8 and saw its three-game winning streak come to an end.
Talen Horton-Tucker and Wade Baldwin led the winners with 17 points apiece. Baldwin added 11 assists for a double-double. Brandon Boston added 14 points, Nicolo Melli had 11 while Devon Hall got 10 for Fenerbahce. Sasha Vezenkov led Olympiacos with 24 points. Donta Hall added 16 while Evan Fournier and Tyler Dorsey each had 15 for the Reds, that were without the competition's PIR leader Nikola Milutinov. With the game tied at 64-64, Baldwin and Boston stepped up early in the fourth quarter to make the difference in the game.
AS Monaco 101-84 Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade
Monaco remained within striking distance of the top of the standings with a 101-84 victory over Partizan on Tuesday night at Salle Gaston Medecin. Alpha Diallo led six Monaco scorers in double figures with 14 points as Monaco improved to 13-7 with its fourth straight win. Nikola Mirotic and Matt Strazel added 13 points apiece. Sterling Brown scored 19 for Partizan, which lost its fifth in a row and slipped to 6-14.
Monaco shot 6 of 9 from deep in the first quarter to lead 28-21. Mirotic pushed the margin to double figures with the first two baskets of the second quarter and the hosts led 54-39 at the break. The margin reached 21 before Nick Calathes led a 0-10 third-quarter run to revive the visitors. Monaco regrouped with a 10-3 start to the final stanza and although Partizan continued to fight, the outcome was never again in doubt.
LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne 69-80 Real Madrid
Real Madrid strengthened its position in the top ten by taking a comeback win over LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne, 69-80. After a tightly contested first quarter ASVEL surged with a strong 12-2 run, holding a 41-36 halftime advantage. The third quarter was back and forth with neither team taking control, and the host was still up by 5 points, 61-56, heading into the final period. But then Trey Lyles took over, scoring 10 consecutive points in just over 2 minutes to lead his team to an ultimately comfortable victory.
Lyles was the chief inspiration with 21 points and 7 rebounds, while Facu Campazzo scored 15 and Walter Tavares paired 12 points with 9 boards, taking him past the 2,000 career rebounds milestone. Glynn Watson and Thomas Heurtel were the only double-digit scorers for ASVEL with 14 and 12 apiece. Real improves to 12-8, while the home team remains in a share of last place at 6-14.
Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade 89-106 Valencia Basket
Valencia celebrated its first ever victory away at Crvena Zvezda by thrashing the hosts 89-106 at the Aleksandar Nikolic Hall on Tuesday evening. The visitors ended the first quarter with a 2-11 run, taking a 20-34 lead into the second. Jean Montero stepped up and took his tally to 15 points, as Valencia secured a 37-54 cushion at halftime. Zvezda opened the second half with a 13-0 run, but the Spanish side bounced back with a 0-9 surge of their own and re-established a double-digit lead which they maintained until the final whistle.
Having won for the first time in seven games away at Zvezda, Valencia improved its record to 14-6. Meanwhile, the Serbian side opened the first double-round week of 2026 with a defeat, dropping to 11-9. Montero led all scorers with a career-high 25 points, while Brancou Badio and Omari Moore netted 15 each and Kameron Taylor added 13. Jordan Nwora bagged a team-high 22 points, 17 of which were scored during Zvezda’s comeback attempt in the third quarter. Jared Butler had 16 points and Chima Moneke scored 15.
Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv 85-60 Dubai Basketball
Hapoel bounced back from the Round 19 home loss to Zalgiris Kaunas with an emphatic defeat of visiting Dubai on the back of a flawless third quarter in which the hosts outscored the EuroLeague debutants 33-13. The Israeli side improved to 14-6 while Dubai, which thrived on offensive boards and physical defense in the first quarter to take a 17-24 lead, dropped to 9-11. Having overturned a 36-41 halftime deficit, Hapoel kept its foot on the gas in the fourth and engineered a 14-2 run to take an 83-56 lead in the home straight, conceding a mere 6 points in the final 10 minutes in front of a jubilant home crowd.
The flawless Antonio Blakeney paced Hapoel n a game-high 25 points to go with 7 boards, shooting 9-of-12 from the floor and sinking all four shots from the line. Vasilije Micic chipped in with 19 points for the winner, Tai Odiase racked up 11 and 7 rebounds while Chris Jones added 10 points, including a dazzling layup down the stretch. At the other end, Dwayne Bacon netted 13 points and Filip Petrusev scored 11 for Dubai.
Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens 74-87 EA7 Emporio Armani Milan
In a battle of two teams attempting to bounce back from derby defeats, Milan heaped more misery on Panathinaikos by stunning the Greens and coming away from OAKA with a 74-87 victory. Armoni Brooks, Josh Nebo and Lorenzo Brown made the difference for an undermanned Milan side that had six players out with injury, as the trio combined to score 57 of Milan’s points. Having done a good job of staying in the game in the first half, Milan took things up a notch after the break and was finally able to establish a comfortable lead in the fourth, with Brooks’s back-to-back three points at 67-79 effectively putting the game beyond any doubt.
Brooks top scored for Milan with 24 points, in addition to pulling down 6 rebounds, dishing 5 assists and blocking 2 shots. Brown – on his first return to OAKA since leaving last summer – paired 17 points with 5 assists, Nebo had 16 points and 7 boards, and Zach LeDay added 10 points. Pippo Ricci posted 7 points and 7 rebounds, too. Panathinaikos was led in scoring by Juancho Hernangomez’s 17 points, followed by Richaun Holmes with 14, Kostas Sloukas with 13, and Kendrick Nunn with 10.
Virtus Bologna 83-79 Zalgiris Kaunas
In an intense battle that went down to the final two minutes, Virtus maintained its unbeaten start to 2026 by edging Zalgiris 83-79 at home in Round 20 on Tuesday. Virtus improved to 10-10 in the standings and is 8-2 in front of its fans so far this season. Zalgiris dropped to 11-9 and lost on the road for the first time since late November.
Derrick Alston Jr paced the winners with 20 points and six rebounds. Matt Morgan added 15 points, Luca Vildoza has 12 while Carsen Edwards and Saliou Niang each got 11 for Virtus. Azuolas Tubelis led Zalgiris with 22 points. Moses Wright added 19, Nigel Williams-Goss had 17 while Sylvain Francisco posted a double-double of 10 points and 10 assists for the guests. Zalgiris got within 81-79 already in the final minute before Edwards sealed the outcome from the foul line with just 7.8 seconds remaining.
FC Barcelona 93-83 Maccabi Rapyd Tel Aviv
Barcelona bounced back from a big loss last week by fighting past Maccabi 93-83 to snap a two-game losing streak. After a big 22-3 first quarter run, Barcelona added a 12-1 spurt in the second period for a 24 point lead. Maccabi managed to trim the deficit to five points in the final frame but Barcelona got the big baskets when it needed them.
Barcelona improved to 13-7 after losing in Round 19 74-90 at home to AS Monaco. Toko Shengelia poured in 22 points while Nicolas Laprovittola had 14 points, Kevin Punter scored 12 points and Willy Hernangomez added 10 points and 10 rebounds. Maccabi has now lost two straight for an 8-12 mark after having won its previous five games. Tamir Blatt tied his career high with 5 three-pointers in scoring 17 points and 9 assists, Jaylen Hoard added 15 points and Iffe Lundberg scored 14 points.
