Chris Jones was the key man for Valencia Basket on Friday night, as the team recorded its third win in a row by overcoming AS Monaco, 89-84 at La Fonteta.
Jones helped by Harper and Webb as Valencia wins again

Jones equaled his career-high by scoring 27 points, after starting as he meant to continue by recording 10 points in the opening 4 minutes. He stayed hot in the second quarter to stretch the lead to double digits, and then decisively returned to sink another three-pointer – his 5th of the night on 7 attempts – and convert an offensive rebound inside the last couple of minutes.
But Valencia’s offensive production wasn’t all about Jones, who received crucial support from a couple of teammates at key moments in the contest.

Firstly, Jared Harper exploded into action during the latter stages of a third quarter, which was otherwise low scoring for both teams. He scored 11 points in less than 4 minutes, including a pair of triples and a layup and one, to make the score 67-54 for Valencia’s biggest lead of the night.
And finally, after Monaco continued to fight hard and twice reduced the deficit to a single-possession game with a flurry of late points, James Webb stepped up with a pair of almost identical three-pointers, both inside the final minute, to make sure Valencia’s great form keeps on rolling.
