The 2023-24 EuroLeague MVP was spectacular, scoring 32 points
Mike James stars as Monaco knocks out defending champ Paris in French Cup

A stellar performance by AS Monaco star Mike James saw his team eliminate Paris Basketball in the last 16 of the French Cup on Tuesday night.
James erupted for 32 points, making a perfect 7-of-7 triples and shooting 10-of-13 from the field, as Monaco came out with a 109-103 win at Salle Gaston Medecin. Curiously, these teams will meet again – also at Monaco’s arena – on Thursday in Round 14 of the 2025-26 EuroLeague campaign.
While Paris never led, it kept fighting until the bitter end, tying the game at 95-95 with three minutes left thanks to a pair of free throws by Justin Robinson. A three-pointer by Jaron Blossomgame made things a little more comfortable for Monaco at 102-97 in the final minute, then Daniel Theis had a decisive steal with 16 seconds remaining that ended with James converting free throws to make sure of the win.
Monaco, which advanced to the quarterfinals, was led by James’s 32 points, together with 19 from Elie Okobo, 12 apiece from Matthew Strazel and Alpha Diallo, and 10 from Blossomgame. Paris’s top scorer was Amath M’Baye with 24 points, followed by Robinson with 19, Jeremy Morgan with 12, and Sebastian Herrera with 11. Nadir Hifi had 8 points.
