The Slovenian forward returns to Europe after six NBA seasons
Milan strengthens with former NBA champ Vlatko Cancar

EA7 Emporio Armani Milan has made another big offseason splash with the signing of forward Vlatko Cancar to a multi-year deal, which the club announced Tuesday.
Cancar (2.03 meters, 28 years old) has spent the last six seasons in the NBA with the Denver Nuggets, where he played a total of 158 games and helped the Nuggets win the 2023 NBA championship.
During his six years across the pond, Cancar mostly played limited minutes and averaged 3.4 points and 1.7 rebounds, but now the small forward is poised to make his presence felt by making his debut in the EuroLeague.
Before the NBA, Cancar played professionally in Slovenia, Serbia and Spain. In his native Slovenia he grew up with Olimpija Ljubljana, where he also made his BKT EuroCup debut in the 2015-16 season, while he spent a lot of time grooming his game in the Slovenian second division with Skofja Loka. Cancar made a move to Mega Belgrade in Serbia in 2016 before heading to Spain in March 2018 to join San Pablo Burgos, where he stayed until leaving for the NBA in the summer of 2019.
Cancar has also been a member of the Slovenian national team and won a bronze medal at the EuroBasket 2017.
