Valencia Basket announced on Tuesday that it has re-signed swingman Xabi Lopez-Arostegi through the end of the 2026-27 season.
Lopez-Arostegui (2.00 meters, 28 years old) averaged 10.4 points on 88.2% free throw shooting and 3.8 rebounds in 20 BKT EuroCup games last season in helping his team reach the semifinals. He ranked fourth in the competition in per-minute PIR, averaging 33-1 prorated over 40 minutes.
Lopez-Arostegui started his professional basketball career with Joventut Badalona and played for its affiliated squad CB Prat Joventut. He was promoted to the Joventut first team before the start of the 2017-18 season and then joined Valencia in 2021.
Lopez-Arostegui has also been a member of the Spanish national team, which he helped to a gold medal at EuroBasket 2022. In 56 EuroLeague games with Valencia, Lopez-Arostegui has amassed 329 points (5.9 ppg.) and 181 rebounds (3.2 rpg.).
