Euroleague Basketball and Nelonen Media, the Finnish entertainment company, have signed an agreement that will bring the EuroLeague to all Finnish basketball fans on an exclusive basis for the remainder of the 2025–26 season and the full 2026–27 season.
As part of this agreement, secured by Euroleague Basketball’s strategic partner IMG, all fans with a Ruutu+ Urheilu subscription will have the opportunity to follow Europe’s top basketball club competition. Ruutu will broadcast a selection of Regular Season and Playoffs games, while the final phase of the competition, the EuroLeague Final Four, taking place this season from May 22 to 24 in Athens, will be aired in its entirety.
“Finland is a vibrant and growing basketball market, and we are thrilled to bring the EuroLeague even closer to its passionate fans,” said Alex Ferrer Kristjansson, Euroleague Basketball Chief Marketing and Communication Officer. “Partnering with Nelonen allows us to deliver the best European club basketball to a wider audience and continue strengthening the sport’s presence across the region.”
All Finnish sports fans will be able to watch the top European club matchups live, accompanied by commentary from Kristian Palotie, Toni Flink and Saara Wahlgren, with particular interest in the two Finnish representatives in the league: Mikael Jantunen and Miikka Muurinen.
“EuroLeague brings basketball entertainment to fans from the absolute top of the continent. It is great to add EuroLeague matches that are of particular interest to Finns to Ruutu's basketball offerings.” says Nelonen Media’s Head of Sports, Tuomas Saarela.
Mikael Jantunen signed with reigning EuroLeague champion Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul last summer after an outstanding debut season with Paris Basketball, where he helped the club reach the Playoffs. Miikka Muurinen, one of the biggest rising stars in European basketball, currently plays for Serbian powerhouse Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade.
This partnership marks a significant step in Euroleague Basketball’s ongoing strategy to expand its reach across Europe, making top-tier basketball more accessible to wider audiences.
