U18 Mega Super opened the Adidas NextGen EuroLeague Ulm qualifier in style by thrashing U18 Olympiacos Piraeus 101-75 at the Orange Campus in Group B on Friday. It was both teams' first game in this tournament.
U18 Mega starts NextGen Ulm in style, 101-75!



Nikola Karalic led eight Mega players in double digits with 19 points. Vuk Danilovic added 13, Aleksa Stikovic had 11 while Djordje Lilic, Benjamin Teletovic, Djordje Gnjato, Petar Bjelica and Andrej Pavlovic each got 10 for Mega. Ilias Chaidemenos led Olympiacos with 20 points. Evangelos Bouzoulas added 16 while Stefanos Gkikas had 10 for the Reds.
Marko Savic led a 9-3 opening run that gave Mega an early lead. Chaidemenos and Bouzoulas rescued Olympiacos before Gkikas tied it at 14-14. Danilovic and Pavlovic made Mega restore a 27-21 lead after 10 minutes. Licic scored off a midcourt steal to make it a double-digit game, 31-21, early in the second quarter. Lilic got help from Karalic and an unstoppable Teletovic to break the game open, 42-25. Gkikas and Bouzoulas brought Olympiacos a bit closer, 53-41, at halftime. Mega improved its defense and Danilovic's second three-pointer boosted his team's lead to 65-44. Olympiacos kept trying but Mega kept a double-digit lead until the final buzzer.
