Olympiacos Piraeus has reinforced its backcourt for years to come after signing Greek guard Omiros Netzipoglou to a four-year deal, the club announced Saturday.
Netzipoglou (1.95 meters, 22 years old) arrives from AEK Athens, where he averaged 6.9 points on 46.2% three-point shooting in 28 games in the Greek League and 5.1 points per game in the Basketball Champions League. He spent two seasons with AEK after beginning his career with Aris Thessaloniki, which he joined at age 16. Netzipoglou showed enough promise to be voted the Greek League Best Young Player for the 2021-22 season. He has represented Greece at both the U20 and senior national team levels.
