There is a lot of anticipation heading into this match as, even though this is by no means a EuroLeague classic fixture, there is plenty of star talent on show. In addition to retaining star guard Mike James, Monaco has added the likes of Jordan Loyd, Elie Okobo, John Brown and two-time EuroLeague champion Adrien Moerman to its roster over the summer, all of whom are set to feature in this Round 1 meeting. Virtus, meanwhile, has kept hold of veteran leaders Milos Teodosic, Marco Belinelli and Daniel Hackett, while it has also tied Tornike Shengelia down to a new contract and brought in some extra EuroLeague experience in Iffe Lundberg and Jordan Mickey.
