Final medical checks are being made in Belgrade to determine recovery timeline
Zvezda's Tyson Carter facing extended absence with pulmonary embolism

Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade has been hit hard by injuries early this season, and the latest player to go down is guard Tyson Carter. The American guard was hospitalized over the weekend with a suspected pulmonary embolism, a condition which was unfortunately confirmed on Monday.
Carter had a case of a bad cough and some abdomen and chest pain upon the team's return from a Round 3 victory over Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul, which resulted in him being checked in to hospital. Some tests are still being done so there is still no prognosis on the recovery timeline, however Carter seems to be facing a lengthy absence.
In his first three EuroLeague games, Carter averaged 14.7 points, tied for the second best on the team, while shooting 40.0% from three-point land. He also posted 2.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists.
New head coach Sasa Obradovic, who was officially announced on Saturday following club's decision to part ways with Ioannis Sfairopoulos, will have a severely depleted roster at his disposal for double-round home tilts against undefeated Zalgiris Kaunas (Tuesday) and Real Madrid (Friday).
The players missing in action after getting injured early this season or during preseason are Jasiel Rivero (foot injury), Isaiah Canaan, who suffered an ACL injury, and Devonte' Graham, Ognjen Dobric and Uros Plavsic (all ankle injuries), while Joel Bolomboy has been out since last season after foot injury.
