FC Bayern Munich has completed the signing of Isaac Bonga on a two-year deal, the club confirmed on Friday. Bonga (2.04 meters, 22 years old) returns to his native Germany after spending last season with Toronto of the NBA and Raptors 905 of the G League. He came off the bench in 15 games for Toronto, playing an average of just 4.6 minutes per game, while for Raptors 905 he had a far bigger role and put up averages of 14.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.0 blocks and 1.4 steals across 32 games. He is set to make his Turkish Airlines EuroLeague debut next season.

Bonga, a member of the German national team, began his professional career as a teenager with Fraport Skyliners of Germany, where he played between 2016 and 2018. Then, after being drafted by Philadelphia in the 2018 NBA Draft, he was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers and spent the 2018-19 season with the purple and gold, as well as its G League affiliate, South Bay. Bonga played for Washington of the NBA in the next two seasons before joining Toronto last summer. Now, he returns to Europe to play in the continent's best competition.
