Reigning champion Anadolu Efes Istanbul made sure to keep one of its core pieces for two more seasons by signing star guard Shane Larkin to a contract extension on Friday.
Efes, Larkin sign on for 2 more years together

A two-time All-EuroLeague guard, Larkin (1.82 meters, 29 years old) has been among the most dominant players in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague since he first joined Efes in the summer of 2018. In that time, he’s led the league with 2,459 performance index rating points and 333 three-pointers made, scored the second-most points (2,095) and dished the sixth-most assists (562).

He was second in the league in average PIR (23.4), fourth in assists, fifth in scoring and eighth in steals. Larkin enters the 2022-23 season on the verge of cracking the all-time top 20 in both points and assists. He has 2,526 career EuroLeague points and needs 81 more to reach 20th place. And he has 749 assists, needing just 6 more to get to 20th place. He is ranked 13th with 382 career triples.
Larkin started his professional basketball career with Dallas of the NBA. He also played for Frisco of the G-League, New York, Brooklyn and Boston of the NBA, and Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz, where he made his EuroLeague debut in the 2016-17 season.
