Anadolu Efes Istanbul signed power forward Amath M’Baye, the club announced Thursday. The deal is for one season with an option for a second. M’Baye (2.06 meters, 32 years old) arrives from Pinar Karsiyaka, with which he averaged 15.1 points and 4.5 rebounds in the Turkish League last season. He averaged 14.7 points and 4.3 rebounds in the Turkish playoffs against Efes.

M’Baye returns to the EuroLeague after playing for AX Armani Exchange Milan during the 2017-18 season. He averaged 6.1 points and 2.0 rebounds in 30 games for Milan. A native of France, M’Baye played college basketball in the United States before beginning his professional career in Japan with Nagoya Diamond Dolphins in 2013. He played for Brindisi, Milan and Virtus Bologna in Italy before joining Karsiyaka in 2019. M’Baye won the Italian League with Milan in 2018 and the Basketball Champions League with Virtus in 2019. He also won a bronze medal as a member of the French national team at the Basketball World Cup in 2019.
