LDLC ASVEL started the Paris European Games tournament in style by downing Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv 86-82. Amine Noua led the winners with 22 points. Joffrey Lauvergne added 15, Pierre Jackson-Cartwright had 11 while Nando De Colo got 10 for ASVEL. John DiBartolomeo and Darrun Hilliard led Maccabi with 14 points apiece. Bonzie Colson and Wade Baldwin each had 12 while Alex Poythress got 11. ASVEL led 36-34 at halftime and extended its margin to 58-55 after 30 minutes. Maccabi took a 69-71 lead on a three-pointer by Hilliard but Jonah Mathews and Noua stepped up in crunch time, then Jackson-Cartwright fixed the final score from the foul line. Also in the Paris European Games tournament, ALBA Berlin edged Paris Basketball 81-83. Jonas Mattisseck hit the game-winning free throws with 7 seconds left. Gabriele Procida and Louis Olinde paced the winners with 14 points apiece. Mattisseck, Yannick Wetzell and Chris Koumadje each added 10 for ALBA. Tyrone Wallace led Paris with 21 points. ALBA led 68-76 with 4 minutes and managed to hold off Paris's comeback down the stretch.
EA7 Emporio Armani Milan reached the City of Cagliari final by thrashing Pallacanestro Varese 111-86. Kevin Pangos led the way with 22 points. Brandon Davies added 16, Naz Mitrou-Long had 14 while DeShaun Thomas got 12 for the winners. Milan led 54-38 at halftime, boosted its margin to 82-64 at the end of the third quarter and remained in full control until the final buzzer. Milan is set to face Dinamo Banco di Sardegna Sassari in the final. Sassari topped Panathinaikos Athens 79-75 behind 17 points from Chinanu Onuaku. Derrick Williams led the Greens with 18 points, Paris Lee added 14 and Lefteris Mantzoukas 12.
