Hapoel secures veteran presence and locker room leader for three more seasons
Team captain Bar Timor extends with Hapoel through 2027–28

Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv and team captain Bar Timor will continue their journey together, after the sides agreed to a contract extension through the end of the 2027-28 season.
Timor (1.90 meters, 33 years old) is set to begin his eighth season with the Reds – a run that began in Israel’s second division and reached its peak with last season’s BKT EuroCup championship and historic promotion to the EuroLeague. Over the years, he has become a symbol of the club both on and off the court.
He averaged 5.1 points and 2.2 assists in less than 18 minutes per game over 23 EuroCup appearances for Hapoel last season. Those numbers jumped to 7.7 points, 3.8 assists and 2.3 rebounds in 21.5 minutes per game in the Israeli League.
“I’m excited and proud to extend my contract with a club that has long since become my home and family,” Timor said. “The thought of continuing to wear the red jersey and take the court in front of the most special fans in the game for the next three seasons fills me with great pride. I want to thank the ownership, Coach Dimitris Itoudis, Sporting Director George Chinas and club management for their trust in me.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to keep giving everything I have for this club. With the energy of our fans behind us, I look forward to facing new challenges and chasing greater goals. I’m ready for three more seasons filled with emotional moments, success, and shared memories.”
Timor is set to make his EuroLeague debut this season with Hapoel after playing eight campaign in the EuroCup with three different clubs: ALBA Berlin, Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem and Hapoel Tel Aviv.
A product of the Hapoel Haifa youth system, Timor made his professional debut in Israel's second division with that club in 2009. He played one season for Hapoel Kiryat Tivon before starting his first spell with Hapoel Tel Aviv in 2011. After two seasons there, Timor joined ALBA for 2013-14 and then played six years in Jerusalem before rejoining Hapoel in 2020. His trophy case includes two Israeli championships. Two Israeli cups and, of course, the 2025 EuroCup.
