FC Barcelona added size and versatility to its frontcourt by signing forward Oscar da Silva to a three-year deal that lasts until 2025, the club announced on Monday. Da Silva (2.06 meters, 23 years old) arrives from ALBA Berlin, where he averaged 8.8 points on 62.4% two-point shooting and 3.5 rebounds in 33 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games last season, his first in the competition. He scored in double digits 13 times and posted a season-high 22 against Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul. Da Silva helped ALBA win the German Cup and German League titles this season.

Da Silva started his professional basketball career with MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg, where he averaged 16.6 points in 17 games during the 2020-21 season. Before that, he played college basketball at Stanford University, where he was a two-time All-PAC-10 First team selection. Da Silva played youth basketball for MTSV Friendsfactory Schwabing, DJK Sportbind Munich and Basketball Akademie Munich of his native Germany.
