"We put a lot of effort [into the game] after a really bad start. We showed character twice: after the bad start, a really bad start. We got down, no energy, but we found the way to fight back and also when they came back in the fourth quarter. We stayed there, stayed positive. I am really proud of the guys; we were fighting. We have to be consistent, the EuroLeague is challenging. It is the top competition!
"It was a big [win] for us. Mentally, we started the game really bad, but found a way to fight back. We changed some lineups, changed some defenses and found a way to get over that really bad start. And also, the second challenge that we faced was their comeback [attempt] in the fourth quarter. We showed some character there, so I am really proud of the players. They kept believing and fighting. We got a W against a really quality team, and I am proud of my players."
"I think that the second quarter affected us a lot. We have seen that Maccabi has a lot of big plays individually. With only 10 assists, we couldn't control that second quarter and the game slipped out of our hands. The players fought back, we managed to tie the game and it could have gone a different way, but congratulations to Maccabi.
"First of all, I would like to say that it was a very, very interesting game. The way it ended and the fact that we tied the game in the clutch moments, it could have gone the other way, too, and it would have been well deserved.
"We couldn't make shots, they were well-created, open looks that we couldn't make. We shot the ball terribly today, from free throws as well as from the three-point line. We had to keep shooting and creating good shots. In the last two EuroLeague games, we shot pretty good and, obviously, that is something that at the end of the game and at the end of the stretch, it would help any team. Today, as I said, we had to find different ways to score.
"Obviously, that second quarter hurt us a lot, the way that Maccabi was defending and also stopped with a zone, in terms of trying to reduce a little bit the productivity we had in the post game with D.P. [Dyshawn Pierre] against Lorenzo [Brown], keeping him always aware and the whole defense of Maccabi. The zone gave us a lot of open looks, a lot of good drives, a lot of free throws which we unfortunately couldn't capitalize on in that game. And it happened what it happened in the third quarter. We never gave up, though. This is a good thing: we found the right rotation and came back to the game. Then it happened what happened with the turnovers. They made the free throws in the clutch moments."
"I think we got stops. They made a run in the fourth quarter. They are such a talented team, they have so many weapons, but in the end, we got enough stops and enough rebounds to come out with a win, and it was a really important game for us. I tried to play with energy and tried to be aggressive when I can, and I tried to help the team in any way I can. Tonight, the ball came to me a little more, and I am happy I was able to help."
"It was a really gutsy [win] for us. Fener is a great team, there are a lot of fast players on that team, so we just had to come out, try to play as aggressive as we can and get the win, and this is what we did. It is always great competition with Nick [Calathes]. He is a legend out here, so it is always an honor. He did his thing, but we came out victorious and that is the most important part. What I said on the bench is that I was thinking that John [DiBartolomeo] plays really hard. He comes in and works every day, and goes 100 miles per hour."
