Cazoo Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz hosts EA7 Emporio Armani Milan in a Round 11 game that will see two of the best rookie guards in the competition, Baskonia's Darius Thompson and Milan's Naz Mitrou-Long, face each other.
Mitrou-Long, Thompson meet in Round 11
Thompson has been one of Baskonia's pillars this season due to his talent, consistency and court sense. He is averaging 12.2 points, 5.6 assists, 1.9 assists and a PIR of 15.7, having made 48.5% of his shots from beyond the arc. Thompson can be effective playing alongside either Pierria Henry or Markus Howard. His athleticism and ballhandling allow him to lead Baskonia in transition, helping his team top the EuroLeague in scoring (87.9 ppg.).
Mitrou-Long is expected to start from now on with Milan's main playmaker Kevin Pangos sidelined. Mitrou-Long has been playing really well since his first appearance in Round 6 and scoring in many ways. He is averaging 14.2 points on very good shooting percentages (57.9% 2FG, 45.2% 3FG, 87.5% FT), 2.8 assists and a PIR of 11.0. Getting his teammates involved against strong on-the-ball defense should be his biggest challenge in his game.
